Population Growth Across Northwest Arkansas (2020–2024)

Northwest Arkansas, from rural towns to fast-developing suburbs, the region’s steady rise is fueled by job creation and its quality-of-life advantages.

  • Springdale: +2,039
  • Centerton: +7,496
  • Pea Ridge: +3,518
  • Tontitown: +3,256

These communities are absorbing the bulk of Northwest Arkansas’ new residents, due to corporate growth, new construction, and suburban expansion.

Fastest Growing Cities by Percentage (2020–2024)

  • Tontitown: +69.5%
  • Highfill: +68%
  • Pea Ridge: +52.7%
  • Centerton: +41.2%
  • Farmington: +37.4%

Many of these towns have doubled in population over the past decade and are still accelerating in growth.

Tontitown:

  • +883 residents from 2020–2021
  • +1,454 in 2021–2022

Other Notable Growing Cities in Northwest Arkansas

A Few Small Towns Declined

Some towns have remained steady or seen slight dips:

  • Decatur: -67 residents since 2020
  • West Fork, Winslow, and Little Flock: flat or minor annual declines. These numbers may reflect limited new development, aging population trends, or simply the slower pace of growth in landlocked or remote communities.

What It Means for Northwest Arkansas

Rapid growth means rising demand for housing, infrastructure, schools, and transportation. Cities like Pea Ridge, Centerton, and Tontitown are at a tipping point, managing both opportunity and pressure as they double in size. Local officials and planners must act decisively to ensure that growth remains sustainable and livable.

Leadership in Action

Use Technology to Work Smarter, Not Harder

Technology doesn’t need to be overwhelming. The right tools, used intentionally, can save time, improve client communication, and keep your business organized without adding complexity.

📲 Focus on just one or two tools that truly support your workflow. For example, a calendar app that sends appointment reminders, or a simple CRM to track client interactions, can make a huge difference without requiring a significant learning curve.

🛠️ Actionable Insight:
Pick one area where you often lose time (scheduling, follow-ups, file access). Find a tool that solves just that issue. Start small. As you grow more comfortable, you can build from there.

Technology should make your business feel lighter, not heavier.

Bentonville New Business

Downtown Bentonville has a new addition that’s turning heads—and wagging tails. Citipups, a pet store specializing in puppies, has officially opened its doors at 709 SW A St., offering a boutique-style experience for dog lovers in the area. Inside, customers will find about 30 puppies for sale at any given time, typically with two of each breed. The store is divided into a front room filled with dog merchandise and a back space where puppies rotate between display boxes and floor-level playpens. Citipups isn’t just about dogs, though. Several resident cats freely roam the store, one of which boasts an impressive social media presence—800,000 followers on Instagram and 1.3 million on TikTok. “Cats that help us sell dogs,” one employee joked. Citipups is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Whether you’re in the market for a furry new friend or just curious to see the viral cat in action, Citipups invites the community to stop in.
