As Northwest Arkansas continues to grow, infrastructure and real estate will be key to delivering the health care slated to NWA for the next 15-20 years. Strategic partnerships are being created to bring world class health care to Northwest Arkansas. These medical facilities being developed across the region will not only provide Northwest Arkansans with better healthcare options, but will also create many new jobs and continue to drive a better real estate market.
New Healthcare Facilities Coming to Rogers & Bentonville
- On Tuesday, the Alice L. Walton Foundation, Mercy, and the Heartland Whole Health Institute announced a $700 million, 30-year collaborative initiative to expand access to top-tier, affordable healthcare in Northwest Arkansas with the announcement of some major real estate developments in the region.
In the effort to make Northwest Arkansas a premier healthcare location, Mercy Hospital plans to bring hundreds of new physicians to the area in the coming years. In addition to jobs for new physicians, these new facilities will create hundreds of new jobs for support and administrative staff.
Heartland Whole Health Institute (Bentonville)
The Heartland Whole Health Institute 75,000-square-foot facility is set to open in early 2025 on the campus of Bentonville’s Crystal Bridges, providing broader, more affordable access to healthcare in our Northwest Arkansas community, in addition to adding physician and staff jobs for caretakers in the region.
Mercy Hospital Additions: Cardiac Care Center (Rogers) & Outpatient Facility (Bentonville)
As a part of this joint healthcare expansion, Mercy Hospital announced it will be developing a new cardiac care center in collaboration with Cleveland Clinic to its Rogers campus, in addition to a specialty outpatient center in Bentonville.
With special efforts to recruit and train top physicians, these developments will add even more jobs for healthcare workers and staff in Northwest Arkansas.
Expansion to Arkansas Children’s Hospital Northwest in Springdale
- Arkansas Children’s Hospital’s new four-story addition at the Northwest campus in Springdale is projected to be completed in 2026. The new facility will allow for longer in-patient services to care for children with more advanced illnesses, aiding their families from having to make frequent trips to the Little Rock campus for specialty care.
- The Northwest campus plans to add 40 new doctors to its staff in coming years, in addition to supporting staff, caretakers, and administrative personnel.
These new real estate projects will not only provide Northwest Arkansas residents with local, high-quality healthcare, but they will also serve as catalysts for job creation and economic growth, reducing the $950 million lost annually to people seeking medical services outside of the area.
Each of these developments enhances the quality of life in our community by addressing critical and needs in medical care, making the area an attractive place for new residents and businesses alike. As these projects are completed and the facilities are staffed, the ripple effect on job creation will be felt across the entire region.
